Movement Wellness
Reset your body with a gentle healing approach.
Moving well requires flexibility, stability and refined motor control. When these areas are out of balance, movement can be painful or limited in many ways. Depending on your condition, sessions may be focused solely on manual therapy to reduce restrictions and pain, other sessions may focus on movement to retrain the neuromuscular system for optimal and coordinated motor control or sessions may be a combination of both.
The descriptions below will give you an idea of what to expect when we work together.
Restore your body back to its best!
Manual Therapy
Myofascial Release
Body tissues that have been disrupted due to injury, surgery, inflammation, overuse, poor posture, inactivity, faulty movement or any other cause of abnormal stress upon the body often creates areas of limited mobility through soft-tissues and joints. This leads to pain and decreased function through your entire system.
Myofascial therapy is a gentle technique that relieves pulling and pressure created when tissues are restricted and unbalanced. By treating fascial restrictions and limited joint mobility, pain is diminished and improved movement and postural alignment are restored.

Manual Therapy
Neural Manipulation
When any part of the nervous system becomes dysfunctional, the body begins to protect and compensate, which can lead to tension and poor movement strategies.
Neural Manipulation is a form of manual therapy used to identify and treat nerve restrictions to reduce pain and restore communication between body structures. This therapy facilitates optimal nerve function and mobility within the surrounding tissues, which will begin to restore harmony back into the entire body and promote better function and well-being.
PILATES MOVEMENT TRAINING
The ability to move well is built on a foundation of optimal postural alignment, core stability and coordinated motor control. And while manual therapy is often needed to restore tissue mobility and alignment, without neuromuscular retraining, your body will continue to use old movement strategies that are contributing to dysfunction and pain.
Movement sessions focus on rebuilding core stability and natural muscle responses for all your activities – this is the foundation that all other movement relies on. Repetition of stabilizing responses and muscle activation is needed for the nervous system to begin to connect this new pattern with functional activities. When core activation happens more automatically, movement training can progress with more challenging, dynamic activities that will further improve strength and resiliency.
Sessions are specifically tailored to meet your needs and goals. Home exercise instruction and self-care techniques are also provided as needed.

A few facts about fascia...
- Fascia influences the quality of our movement much more than our muscles alone.
- Fascia plays a large role in how our nerve cells communicate to control movement.
- Fascia has unique properties that require a specialized approach to training, recovery and therapy.
